JP
Since our establishment in 1949, we have been involved in the production and sales of
artificial sweeteners and other high-intensity sweeteners as a specialized sweetener
manufacturer. In search of safer natural sweeteners, we were the first in the world to develop
a stevia sweetener and, as “the pioneer of stevia”, we have been striving for technological
innovation based on the breeding of the stevia plant, establishing an integrated system from
cultivation to extraction and purification.
As a result of more than a decade of breeding, the world's first “Rebaudioside A sweetener”
with superior tasting profile was born, creating a new stevia market. Today, in line with
international regulatory trends, it contributes to the low-calorie food market globally as a
natural sweetener.
Furthermore, since 2014, we have been developing “novel sweeteners” such as
“Rebaudioside M”, without the characteristic bitterness of stevia sweeteners. These sweeteners
are highly anticipated from the global food industry as the next-generation stevia sweeteners.
We will continue to create low-calorie sweeteners that are as good as sugars, leveraging our
sweetener development know-how accumulated since our founding, aiming to develop
technologies that will enable us to always provide the food industry with "safe low-calorie
sweeteners of superior tasting profile".
In the 21st century, more and more health and safety conscious foods are desired, and
sweeteners that combine superior taste quality and low-calorie content are in demand.
As a manufacturer specializing in sweeteners, we will continue our corporate activities to
contribute to the health of mankind, aiming to be a company for which people say that
“Stevia developed by Morita has contributed to the world's food products”.
Sincerely,
Toyoshige Morita
